ROMANOV FAMILY: ON THIS DATE IN THEIR OWN WORDS. NICHOLAS II, 13 JANUARY, 1914
From the 1913 diary of Nicholas II:
13th January. Monday. Took a nice walk in the morning; the weather was sad, it was raining. After Grigorovich’s report, received until breakfast. Around 3 o’cl. Alexei was presented with zembstvas at the Grand Palace – a village made by craftsmen on an extremely long table. After that took a walk with Olga and Marie; the rest have a cold. Was finally free, i.e. was able to study peacefully.
