DIARY OF ALEXEI ROMANOV (1916)

From the 1916 diary of Alexei Romanov: 

24 October. Got up late. Have a rather bad cold. Studied with P.V.P., Batushka and K.A. Had breakfast with ours. Played toy soldiers with Sig. From 4 – 5 studied with Sig. Before dinner, stayed at Mama’s. Had dinner in my room as usual. Went to bed somewhat late.

5 November. No pain since yesterday. For now I remain in bed. P.V.P., Zh., Sig are constantly with me. Before breakfast wrote a letter to Mama. Spent the day same as yesterday: played a marine game and cards, listened to French and English reading.
