ROMANOV FAMILY: ON THIS DATE IN THEIR OWN WORDS. TATIANA ROMANOV, 16 DECEMBER, 1913
From the 1913 diary of Tatiana Romanov:
“The Standart”. 16 December. Monday. In the morning went to the orphanage for the chronically [ill] with Nastenka and Olga. I feel terribly sorry for all of them. Returned at 11 something. At 12 there was a molebna. Had breakfast with everyone. […] Later Papa bid farewell to the troops in front of the house and ceremonial marshals passed by. At 3 o’cl. 40 min. we 4 ,Papa, Mama, Alexei and Dmitri rode to the yacht in two carriages. We 4 [rode] with N.P. Had obednya on the deck. Stayed with P.A. for a little while, then went to tea. After tea we 4 with Mama and N.P. went [back] to the yacht, got in a motor boat and went to the chapel of Nikolai the Miracle Worker near the mall. Prayed and returned to the yacht. Walked around the yacht with the officers. Had dinner with everyone. Later [I] was with P.A. for a little while, then Olga sat with him and N.P. until 11 ½. It was awfully nice. Went to bed at 11 ½.”
