From the 1913 diary of Olga Romanov:
“Thursday. 15 August. Obednya was held at 11 o’cl. after which – breakfast with the suite. Zlebov, Stolitza, Nevyarovsky and Butakov were invited from the yacht. Saw S. for a moment through the fieldglass. I miss him so much at times, it’s awful. In the afternoon walked to Oreanda on the horizontal path with Papa, the Aunt and M. Then we returned to the beach and went swimming. So pleasant. Had tea on the balcony. In the evening we 2 played poker with the Aunt. Mama worked. Talked to N.P. on the telephone. It rained a little, and we heard far away thunder. Sunny.”
