From the 1916 diary of Alexei Romanov:
26 January. Got up early. In the morning studied, then took a walk. Had breakfast with Papa, Mama and we 5. Three days ago a rabid dog bit Joy and Brom in Bablovks. Took a walk during the day. At 5 o’cl. was at tea at Mama’s. Had dinner at 6 o’cl. with V. Nikolaevich [Derevenko]. At 8 o’cl. was at Mama’s for dinner. Went to bed late. In the evening Grigori was here.
