ON THIS DATE IN THEIR OWN WORDS: NICHOLAS II – 17 APRIL, 1904.

From the 1904 diary of Nicholas II:

17^th April. Saturday. At 10 o’cl. Left Petersburg with Misha (on duty). When [we] arrived at Tsarskoe Selo the sun peeked out and the weather got warmer. At 12 o’cl.on the square of the Grand Palace there was a parade of the 1^st and 2^nd sharpshooter battalions and the 6^th Don battery. All the parts presented excellently.
