ON THIS DATE IN THEIR OWN WORDS. OLGA ROMANOV – 9 MAY, 1913.
From the 1913 diary of Olga Romanov:
“Thursday. 9 May. From 9 o’cl. 15 min. until 10 o’cl. [I] sat on the balcony with T and baked in the sun. After that had lessons. Had breakfast with Mama and Aunt Olga. In the afternoon we 4 and Aunt Olga went riding. We rode by the church, the barracks and the Assembly ([I] hoped to see my dear) and got lucky. AKSHV and a bunch of other officers were on the balcony. So nice. At about 3 ½ met N.P. (it’s his name day today) at Znamenie and went to Mama’s. Sat on the balcony and had tea cozily. Had dinner with Mama and spent the evening with her and Anya. Papa sent a lovely lilac bouquet and a letter to Mama from [Germany?]. He sent a telegram from Berlin.”
