From the 1916 diary of Alexei Romanov:
29 January. Got up early. Studied and took a walk. Had breakfast with Mama we 5. Walked during the day and sledded. Papa sent a telegraph. [He] saw lots of troops. At 5 o’cl. was at Mama’s for tea. Had dinner at 6 o’cl. Prepared homework. At 8 o’cl. was at Mama’s for dinner. Went to bed late. Nagorny’s wallet was stolen with 90 rubles.
