The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation issued a statement today that the re-examination study confirmed the authenticity of the remains of Tsar Nicholas II and his family. However, the Russian Orthodox Church is still not ready to make a final conclusion on the question of the authenticity of the remains of the Romanov family.
In 2004 author Robert Alexander published a novel called “The Kitchen Boy“, which shortly became a bestseller. About 10 years later, a Hollywood movie with the same title went into production, to be released in late 2015.
But who was the real “kitchen boy” – Leonid Ivanovich Sednev – a boy who was just a year older than Tsarevich Alexei and the latter’s last friend and comrade. The boy who faithfully served the Romanov family at the Ipatiev House, their last household in Ekaterinburg, until just a day before their murder.

The studies of the tissue samples from the tomb of Tsar Alexander III, located at the St Peter & Paul Fortress began today, announced the Senior Investigator Criminologist on the case, Vladimir Solovyov. He did not mention the exact date of when the actual exhumation of the Tsar’s remains took place.
Before starting this work, the Vicar of Holy Trinity of the Alexander Nevsky Lavra, Bishop of Kronstadt Lord Nazariy performed a litia prayer at the fortress.

There is now a possibility of exhumation of the remains of Tsar Alexander III in order to have a “more accurate data” for the study of the Romanov family remains, in particular those of Tsarevich Alexei, Grand Duchess Maria, Tsar Nicholas II and Empress Alexandra Feodorovna.
“To remove the last doubts” about the authenticity of the remains of the Romanov family, the Patriarch of Moscow and All the Russia offered to open the tomb of Alexander III, at a meeting of the Committee for the Reburial of the Romanovs. Currently this issue is being addressed by the Investigative Committee of Russia. New study on the remains of the Romanov family should be completed by February, 2016
October 16, 2015 – The Russian government hopes that all the work on the remains of the Romanov family and plans for their reburial will be completed by early February 2016, said a Cabinet source. “By early February, we expect the completion of all tests, the completion of all procedures, to have prepared a report from the investigative team, and furthermore, the restoration of the original appearance of the sarcophagus of Tsar Alexander III”. Geli Trofimovich Ryabov passed away today – October 16, 2015 – on the 84th year of life. Film director, screenwriter, acclaimed author whose work I often referenced for my own books.
Born in 1932 in an ordinary family, he graduated from Moscow Institute of Law in 1954, then worked as an investigator, and later as Assistant to Minister of Internal Affairs.
