Earlier this week, the tomb of Tsar Alexander had once again been opened at the Peter & Paul Cathedral, said a source familiar with the situation. Entrance to the Cathedral for the congregation was closed off and guarded by the police.
In recent weeks, preparations for the opening of the tomb of Alexander III were taking place. The opening began a few days ago. Samples of the remains of Russian Tsar Alexander III, father of Nicholas II, will be obtained and shipped from St. Petersburg to Moscow for genetic research as soon as possible.
