TIME TRAVEL WITH ROMANOV FAMILY: CHILDREN’S ISLAND PIER

This is a familiar photo of Tsarevich Alexei in Alexander Park in 1917, and I only recently figured out that it was taken from the Children’s Island. Please watch the video below:

Hi Helen …I went there in 1986. I don’t think what you call ‘a pier’ is a pier! I think it was a small floating bridge that linked the island to the shore of the lake. The bridge was pulled across by means of the chains. Did you see the graves of the children’s pets? They were behind the teahouse on the island. ..
